This article shows you where to find account forms to complete certain actions in your account(s) — such as beneficiary designations, contact information updates, deposits, and distribution requests — and how to initiate a new request from the Account Actions page in the Retired.com online portal.
The screens described below reflect the current online portal. Menu names and locations may change as the platform evolves; this article will be updated if they do.
What you'll need
Your portal login credentials
The account you want the form to apply to (if you hold more than one)
Steps
1. Log in and open the account menu
Log in to your online portal. You'll land on your Dashboard, which shows your total asset value and your accounts. In the top-right corner of the page, click your name to open the account menu.
2. Go to Account Settings
In the menu that appears, click Account Settings. The Account Settings page opens on the Security tab, where you'll see three tabs beneath your name: Security, Linked Banks, and Account Actions.
3. Open the Account Actions tab
Click the Account Actions tab. This page lists all available account forms. Each form is a secure document that opens in a new browser tab, provided by Digital Trust, our custodian.
4. Select the account the form applies to
At the top of the Account Actions page, the Select Account bar shows which of your accounts is currently active. If you hold more than one account — for example, both a Traditional IRA (Individual Retirement Account) and Roth IRA — click the bar and choose the account your request applies to before starting a new form.
5. Choose your form and click Select
Below the account bar, you'll see the available forms, each with a short description and a Select link:
Agent Authorization — for managing authorized agents (e.g. RIAs) on your account
Bill Pay — for submitting bill payment requests tied to assets in your account
Deposit Submission — for submitting deposits to your account
Designation of Beneficiary — for designating beneficiaries for your account
Direction of Investment — for alternative asset investments not directly available through the Retired.com platform (e.g. Real Estate, Private Equity, Private Lending, etc.)
Direction of Investment - Precious Metals — for physical precious metals investments
Distribution Request — to request a distribution of funds from your account
Fair Market Valuation — for updating the fair market valuation of certain assets in your account
Non-Qualified Withdrawal Request — to request a non-qualified withdrawal (transfer out) from your account
Signature Request — for requesting Digital Trust to sign a document related to assets in your account
Update Contact Information — updates your contact details across all of your accounts
Click Select next to the form you need. The secure form opens in a new browser tab, where you can complete and submit it.
If your request isn't listed: DocuSign forms
A small number of request types aren't available as in-app forms. These are completed through DocuSign instead — contact the Service Team and we'll send you a digital copy of the form to complete and sign electronically.
Common questions
Why does the form open in a new tab instead of inside the portal? Account forms are secure documents provided by Digital Trust, our custodian, which holds and administers your account assets. The new tab connects you directly to the custodian's secure form system.
Which account should I select before starting a form? Select the account your request applies to — the form is tied to the account shown in the Select Account bar. The one exception is Update Contact Information, which applies your changes across all of your accounts no matter which one is selected.
Do I need to understand distribution rules before submitting a Distribution Request? Distributions from retirement accounts can have tax consequences, and the rules vary by account type and age. Before you submit, see Taking a distribution — what you need to know. We recommend consulting a tax advisor or attorney for guidance specific to your situation.
What if I don't see the form I need? Some forms are only available through DocuSign rather than in the portal. Contact the Service Team — if your request needs a DocuSign form, we'll send you a digital copy to complete and sign.
Does submitting a form complete my request immediately? No — submitting a form starts your request. The Operations Team processes it, and processing times vary by request type. Contact the Service Team if you'd like to check the status of a submitted request.
