Ethereum (ETH) is one of the cryptocurrencies eligible for staking in a Retired.com account. This article covers the specific minimums and timing that apply to staking ETH.
Steps / Explanation
Ethereum runs on a proof-of-stake consensus model, so ETH held in your account can be staked to support the network and potentially earn rewards, credited directly to your account. If you meet the eligibility requirements in Staking Eligibility Requirements, you can stake or unstake ETH at any time through the asset's details page — see How to Stake and Unstake Crypto on Retired.com for the exact steps.

*Wait times are estimates. Actual times vary with request-processing volume, network conditions, and validator performance, and are subject to change.
What these periods mean
Processing period is the time it takes Retired.com to batch and submit your staking or unstaking request.
Bonding period for ETH varies because Ethereum manages new staked positions through a validator entry queue — how long yours takes depends on how many others are entering the network at the same time.
Unbonding period for ETH is effectively none — once your unstaking request is processed, your ETH is available to trade without an additional network-side delay.
Rewards re-staked means ETH rewards are automatically added to your staked position rather than paid out as a separate available balance, compounding your stake over time.
See How Does Staking Work for how these component periods generally combine across different assets.
Common questions
Why doesn't ETH have a fixed bonding period like other assets?
Ethereum admits new staked positions through a network-wide entry queue, so the wait depends on how much other staking activity the network is handling at that moment. It can be short during quiet periods and longer when demand is high.
Is the 1 ETH minimum related to Ethereum's 32 ETH validator requirement?
No — running your own validator on Ethereum requires 32 ETH, but staking through your Retired.com account pools positions, so the platform minimum is 1 ETH.
If rewards are re-staked, do I ever see a separate reward payment I can spend?
No — for ETH, rewards compound into your staked position automatically rather than landing in your available cash balance. You'd need to unstake to access the value, including the compounded rewards.
