SUI is one of the cryptocurrencies eligible for staking in a Retired.com account. This article covers the specific minimums and timing that apply to staking SUI.
Steps / Explanation
SUI runs on a proof-of-stake consensus model, so SUI held in your account can be staked to support the network and potentially earn rewards, credited directly to your account. If you meet the eligibility requirements in Staking Eligibility Requirements, you can stake or unstake SUI at any time through the asset's details page — see How to Stake and Unstake Crypto on Retired.com for the exact steps.

What these periods mean
Processing period is the time it takes Retired.com to batch and submit your staking or unstaking request.
Bonding period is SUI's own network delay before a newly staked position starts earning.
Unbonding period is the network-side delay after your unstaking request is processed, before your SUI is available to trade again.
Rewards re-staked means SUI rewards are automatically added to your staked position rather than paid out as a separate available balance, compounding your stake over time.
See How Does Staking Work for how these component periods generally combine across different assets.
Common questions
Why are SUI's bonding and unbonding periods only 24 hours?
The SUI network processes staking changes on a daily cycle called an epoch. Positions activate, deactivate, and earn on that once-a-day schedule, which makes SUI one of the faster assets to stake and unstake.
Why is the SUI minimum only 1 SUI when other assets require thousands of units?
Minimums reflect what's practical on each network, not relative value — SUI's network design supports very small staking positions, while networks like Cardano and Polkadot work in larger denominations.
If rewards are re-staked, do I ever see a separate reward payment I can spend?
No — for SUI, rewards compound into your staked position automatically rather than landing in your available cash balance. You'd need to unstake to access the value, including the compounded rewards.
